Fresh not Frozen...Despite the chilling temperatures our greenhouses are still able to grow sweet, bright, and crisp head lettuce! We don't want our winter farming efforts to be wasted, and we want to ensure that our winter Veggie Boxes are worth continuing in the future, so we urge our members to enjoy this week's featured bountiful lettuce harvest!
Most members will have a head of lettuce in their box this week, and you can customize to select the special priced lettuce item* to get 3 head lettuces for a special price.
We are so lucky to be able to enjoy this delicate crop throughout the winter months. Put a winter twist on how you prepare your head lettuce by pairing it with a warm mustard vinaigrette (bacon optional…) or wrapping your favorite sautéed meat/vegetables for a utensil free meal. Marie and William love little ground pork meatballs seasoned with ginger and garlic and eaten with shredded watermelon radish and carrots scooped up in lettuce leaves.
