Lisa & I have a mandatory 48 hours away from the farm once a month through out the summer. We are grateful that our kids & staff can handle things while we take a little break. We visited our Nations Capital, Ottawa, and it was very fun as most times when we get to leave the farm, it happens to be for more farm related things. We're happy to back as this week has been a better growing week!
New Farm Happenings:
- Asparagus!! We are nearing the end of the asparagus season! If you want some, check out our store or markets as this is likely the last week for it. (We will announce on social media)
- Strawberries: We have some ready! Lots of berries being picked for shares this week
- Planting: We are finally caught up with our veggie plantings. We just finished planting sweet potato slips, melons and squash. We finally have our field tunnels up so more tomatoes are going in.
- Lettuce: We have some ready! You have some selection for shares
- Kale, Kholrabi, and Swiss Chard. All are ready as well and available
- Pasture: We're moving the cows this week to a new paddock mostly comprised of rye grass! They will be very happy with this new addition to their diet.
- New Items: Garlic scapes & Green Bunching Onions are here! We don't have huge quantities yet be we will keep you posted.
- Refer A Friend: We have sign up open through out the summer, so if you have friends that want to join our program be sure t give them your 'refer a friend' link so can get you $25 credit!
- Swapping Items: We think we have got the swapping feature working the way we want. You should be able to swap without having to pull out your credit card. Of course if you want to buy more for your share or purchase extras you will need a card on file.
