I must say I am one pretty happy farmer as I type this. Almost as happy as our pup Dumpy, who loves to play in puddles. We are getting the heat we needed to get our crops growing rapidly (and get them caught up after the cool wet spring we had) and we got over an inch of rain yesterday (Friday) to give everything a much needed watering. No farmer will ever complain about rain in July as it is so critical to having top quality crops. We do and have been irrigating as much as we can in this hot weather but you just can't replace a well timed down pour.
New Farm Happenings:
- Asparagus We are nearing the end of the asparagus season! This is the last of it. We've stopped picking to let the roots recharge for next years crop.
- Strawberries: We have tons ready! Lots of berries being picked for shares this week
- New Items: Garlic scapes & Green Bunching Onions are here!
- Kale, Kholrabi, Green Onion and Swiss Chard. All are ready as well and available
- Coming Soon: Snap peas, snow peas, and brocolini
- Refer A Friend: We have sign up open through out the summer, so if you have friends that want to join our program be sure t give them your 'refer a friend' link so can get you $25 credit!
- Swapping Items: We think we have got the swapping feature working the way we want. You should be able to swap without having to pull out your credit card. Of course if you want to buy more for your share or purchase extras you will need a card on file.
