Hi folks
Watermelon, garlic, and field tomato are new this week. Kohlrabi, dill, eggplant are back on the list plus lots more. It looks like cantaloupe, cucumbers, and basil may done for the season. We'll see.
The watermelon is called Sugar Baby, an old time seeded variety that's mostly small enough to fit in the box. Over 1/2 the crop are large (bigger than a full size basketball) and they don't fit but the rest do. Big watermelon go to farmers markets.
We now have a good supply of garlic. Our crop wasn't great but we reached out to some farming friends nearby and now have lots. The variety is Music, the standard hard neck garlic for our area. It's delicious.
Everything is maturing quite quickly. A lot of our squash is ready but we have a rule, no squash until we still get our fill of watermelon! Squash is too much like fall and we're not ready for that yet....but its coming soon.
Share boxes, red bags and decent egg cartons, we want them back. It's important to us to re use and recycle as much as possible.
Have a great week!
Steve
