** Cut off times for share customization will END ON SUNDAY NIGHT (regularly Monday night) as we have a conference we need to attend next week. This means we need to start our week on Monday! Thank you**
What a sunny week it has been...still cold, but sunny!
What's new on the farm;
- Seed inventory;
- has been counted and we will be ordering what we need for planting in April.
- We start growing the plants in trays in the greenhouse when the weather gets warmer so that the plants are more developed before we 'transplant' them into the field.
- East Central Farm Show;
- During the 'off season', is when farm shows & conferences are held so that the farmers actually have time to go. These are shows where agriculture companies advertise and chat with the local ag community.
- These types of shows are open to the public for all to attend and learn about agriculture!
- PS- You get a lot of free swag ;)
- Green House Items
- Lettuce is back!
- Still waiting on Hot House tomatoes, hopefully there will be some for the last weeks.
- Summer Share Sign Up Open
- Just a little reminder if you haven't signed up yet.
- If you have please tell your friends, family, co-workers, gym buddies, and hockey pals. We're trying to expand and we need your help!
- Refer a friend bonuses available!
And now for the most important farm happening for March;
- Maple Syrup
- It looks like this weekend is going to kick off the Sap running!
- For sap to flow out of maple trees, the weather needs to be 6 during the day and below 0 during the night.
- We can keep collecting sap until buds start to sprout on the trees. This usually happens when the weather constantly stays above 12 during the day and does not drop below 0 during the night. (Mid April)
- Watch are social media for how we harvest and make maple syrup!
That is all for now folks!
Have a Great Weekend,
-The Coopers
