Week 22
The end of our 24 week long CSA is right around the corner, just three weeks left in our main season. The Fall radicchio crop is nearing maturity and while it doesn't look like much from the surface, the hidden gems under all the green outer leaves are the real treasure. Every time we harvest it's like uncovering a hidden treasure of bright color, some red and white, some yellow, white and pink, others yellow white and purple. Radicchio isn't everyone's favorite, but it is a nice addition to salads this time of year, also great grilled or roasted, with a little bit of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. In addition to radicchio being a new item this week, we'll also have our sweet potatoes available for shares. This year's sweet potatoes are finished with their curing process and are ready to eat!
