Week 17
This week we'll get some of our final fall fields ready for planting. It feels like fall with the cool mornings, and our job from here is to keep on our planting schedules and maintain the cool season crops that we have coming up over the next couple of months. We have a nice assortment of things planted and planned for the coming months. Pretty soon we expect broccolini to return and in the next couple of weeks our little gem lettuces, dandelion and radicchio should be sizing up. For the first time in a few years, we have planted carrots, which are always a bit of a challenge to grow and maintain as they require a lot of time and effort to keep the weeds at bay. Along with the carrots, we have a nice beet crop coming up as well as various types of turnips and radishes and in a few weeks we will dig our sweet potatoes. So many things coming up, we are very excited for this time of year.
