Week 20
This time of year for us on the farm is fun. Each week we start to see different things come back into harvest, many similar things from our Spring season, and a few new things that we only do in the Fall. Most of this year's crew has been with us since first thing in the Spring, so the work is often relearning the specifics of harvesting the same things as we did back in May, but also teaching/learning the different newer things we have coming on for the Fall months. This week we'll be starting our harvests of watermelon radish, bok choi, tatsoi, dandelion greens and radicchio. Hopefully this week we see some rain come through, we were anticipating some heavy rains last week, but nothing significant materialized. The fields are quite dry and although we irrigate, we see the best growth from some heavy natural rainfall.
