Hello Friends,
Working on the farm has been hot the past few weeks, and the best solution for that is lots of water and good hat. And keeping busy - which is not a problem around here. The picture this week is one of my daughter Harper helping me in the greenhouse to prepare cuttings from a neighbors trees so we can plant them around the farm this fall. We took cuttings from poplar, river birch, paper birch, ginkgo, and sweet gum. I'd like to see more shade on the barn to reduce cooling costs and Harper wants to make a paper birch forest through which she and her sister can ride the zip line in our yard. Pretty cool idea.
The tomatoes are starting to ripen now and we should be seeing them in your boxes for week 10. Watermelon, cantaloupes and eggplants are coming soon too!
Talk to you soon,
Mike
