Apologies for the late launch this week...to tell the truth, I forgot it was Sunday. These things tend to happen now and I guess I won't be too hard on myself ;-) Thanks for being in the flow with us.
The heat is finally starting to break at Earth Spring Farm. Sun-loving veggies are still thriving in the fields, while the lower temp veggies are anticipating cooler nights. Soon we'll enjoy the return of kale, red cabbage, beautiful cauliflower, fennel and carrots. Farmer Mike says this a lot, but the cauliflower might be the best we've ever grown on the farm. Savor the dog days of summer and look forward to the sweetness of early fall.
This Week's Fruit Share: Donut Peaches!
In my humble opinion, donut peaches are THE BEST. They're a super sweet freestone variety that make the perfect snack. When ripe, just pop the pit out with your thumb and enjoy. Who says donuts don't grow on trees? Donut peaches are for sale as extras this week - look for the One-Time Fruit Share option in the extras list!
Sugar Baby Watermelon is here for real!
We faked you out by accident last week when the sugar baby watermelon wasn't quite ready by Friday. We officially have it this week! They're just about perfect for a personal sized watermelon, or you can share if you're feeling really nice.
