Hi Everyone!
Wow - I don't want to speak too early but it looks like winter abruptly ended and spring is blowing in as I write this! I expect to be tilling the first outside beds on Monday and seeding peas, spinach, scallions and radishes. In the greenhouses we are busy seeding beds of arugula, baby kale greens and planing lettuce. In trays we are busy with the tomaotes, peppers, eggplants, kales, cabbages and all of the great produce you expect from us this year. As you know CSA signups are rolling and we have expanded our options to make the weekly ordering easier for you.
In other news, I have started a fundraiser for a farm in West Africa where I worked in the 90s as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Here is a link if you care to take a look at this worthwhile project. https://fundly.com/african-village-water-tower
I have decided to use the farm and it's reach to create annual fundraisers. Last year we raised funds to help my employee who, along with his wife and children, are seeking asylum from chaos in an area of Guatemala that is over run with drug traffickers. The funds raised have been used to pay for legal fees for an immigration lawyer in Harrisburg. (https://fundly.com/mayan-asylum-fundraiser/dash)
Spring weather, vaccinations (going back to the gym) ... looking forward to this season!
