I just got back from Ithaca NY where I had fun showing my daughter Sage around the campus of my Alma matter Cornell. When we arrived on Saturday afternoon I realized that the Ithaca farmers market woul stil be open, in the rain! The market has a beautuful (and large) open pavilion for the farmers and vendors and hundreds of people attend the market each week during the season. It was great to talk to a lot of the farmers about growing techniques and Sage got to meet a few incredible artists there.
Far above Cayugas waters... we biked around campus and she got to tiptoe the catwalks in the White library and we were both blown away by I.M. Pei's Herbert F Johnson Art Museum and all of the amazing artwork inside - plus clear views up Lake Cayuga.
We finished at the Cornell Botanical Gardens and fell in love with the herbs and perennials within the rock walls and gardens, a gift from an Alum (1918!) in memory of his wife.
