As we head in to February, I'm a little surprised that the temps are staying so warm. A little January thaw is nice but it's is looking like another early spring headed our way. Having said that, I always hope for snow and cold (and a return to "normal" weather) and I was pleased with some of what we had this January. Here's a link for winter enthusiasts to a FB page called Jay's Wintry Mix. He makes realistic predictions based on real weather patterns and takes an interesting look at historical weather. It's mostly for Northern WV, N.Virginia, MD and Southern tier PA.

Anyway, longer days means that we are headed into quicker growth of our greens in greenhouses and a return to flowers soon also! I have snapdragons, stock and the amazing ranunculus all looking super in the flower house. This week I will be making more dry flower wreaths and mini-displays for CSA, ESf farm store and Mt P market.
Talk soon,
Mike
