What’s in the Box

The radishes are having their perfect moment, along with bok choi.  I love radishes on toast with butter or goat cheese. I hope you'll try it too.

I got to enjoy the first few spears of asparagus yesterday.  Is there a more perfect taste of spring?  There are literally only a handful, so you won't find any in this weeks availability; if they speed up over the weekend I'll add them in on Monday and let you know.  Not to worry - asparagus is on route!

On the Farm

Amanda and Michelle built the most beautiful trellis for snap peas this week.  It's going to make picking a dream.  Usually I don't trellis the peas but then we have to crawl around untangling them from one another all spring and everyone grumbles about pea picking.  I'm pretty sure this dreamy trellis is going to make pea picking a favorite activity.

We made a great start hoeing the garlic, which we planted last October.  It's the crop that takes the most patience on our farm.  We'll likely have to hoe it another few times before harvest in late July.

We also managed to plant our first round of cucumbers and cherry tomatoes.  I can barely wait to enjoy all of the greek salads in my future.

That’s all for now, happy eating until next time,

Farmer Tamara
