Just a reminder that this is the final week of Mackinac Island/St. Ignace deliveries. Thanks again for joining us this season!

Snow on the ground this morning? Nothing quite like it to add a sense of urgency to everything we're doing around here.
With some 20's in the forecast at night, it looks like it's time to get the irrigation drained for the season - another to-do item added to the weekly list. We didn't manage to get the garlic planted last week so we'll be tackling that as well - we intended to plant it last Friday, but the four inches of rain deterred us. We'll also be harvesting much of the remaining field crops before the well below freezing weather shows up on Thursday; most of them can handle cold, but low 20's is just too cold for most.
Our main goal is still to finish the hoophouse/greenhouse projects. Hopefully sometime next week we'll get the plastic on and then we'll be able to finish all of the heating, water and electrical work while we're out of the elements. The shorter days sure have a way of dragging out projects like these. It always seems to surprise us with how quickly the daylight disappears in the morning - we used to start at 7am and we'd have plenty of daylight beforehand, then as the days got shorter, we switched to 8am and now its just barely getting light at 8am. Sure is no mistaking that it's almost November.
Well, on that note, time is of the essence, so it looks like it's time to go see how much we can get done today.
Have a good week!
