We love irrigating days when we get to flood irrigate our back pastures where the cows live. We all have a blast playing in the water, but especially the kids and Zoey. :) One of our fields isn't leveled well, however, and so LOTS of water comes off of it and usually floods our neighbors field to the east. This spring, we were able to get a large trench dug so that we could at least stop flooding their field while we work to improve the level, flow, and saturation of our field. So yesterday, while Mason and I were running around changing gates and pipe and trying to get the water to flow where we want and need it (much easier said than done), the kids played in the water, using an old cooler for a boat. They were at it most of the day, actually, making and breaking dams and all other sorts of muddy fun. :)
