Good morning,
Another beautiful day isn't it? Wow. Oh...and did you see last night's moon?? Just breathtaking.
We are on the final two weeks of the hardest part of our season. Fall planting has to be finished to set the last half of the season. Weed pressure is at it's highest, CSA shares are starting to become more interesting. It's just a little bit busy (lol) Here is the great news. We have a new driver doing deliveries and he seems to be catching on very well. He has lots of experience delivering in the city and that has been an asset. A week with me riding shot gun under his belt, I think this is the week he will be able to venture out solo. This will be a very heavy cross off my back.
We have kids in the field helping with the weeding while knocking off their community service hours which is a part of their High School program. It is fun to have them here. It is a great opportunity for us to scout for potential staff and also to teach them a little bit about how their food is grown.
Tomato plants are starting to flourish, zucchini and cucumber plants now are requiring a daily walk and the shire, full of herbs has a lovely aroma.
Yellow beans are making their debut this week and are the inspiration for this week's theme that has once again 'bean' (sorry about that) provided to us by Marissa LaPore.
Enjoy :-)
