A bit shy to share this story, but it is somehow perfect for this week.
This is our 9th year.
I had reason to drop go back and deliver to a home that now picks up. For some reason, in the frantic pace of a season I hadn't connected the dots despite having this fine family being along side for so many years. So, when I pulled up to the house in the light of late afternoon it all came together in one powerful moment. As I was approaching their threshold at the exact same moment my mind was in the present but also filled with memory of the past. Took me quite off guard to be honest and the experience was both pleasant and unsettling.
Nine years of working the fields and running the roads. Time somehow just sort of passes without you realizing it.
As we head into week 8 it is time for a day off I think. Today, I am taking Marcelino and Jaime to Mount Tremblant. They have earned it as they have worked tirelessly without complaint. Our fields are in good shape and we are just at the cusp of an anticipated heavy harvest. Back in the saddle tomorrow.
Just one footnote that is worth noting. We are having a fire sale on zucchinni. So much and it keeps coming so this is a great time get those recipies out and make the most of it. Fresh garlic is also available and once again we have basil for you.
Enjoy :-)
