Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
We hope you had the chance to slow down and share good food with friends and family. I love Thanksgiving, as it has roots that rest deep near something that is shared amongst us all - the importance of food and the coming together to produce and share it. No matter how busy our lives become, how infused with technology, and how increasingly disconnected we become with the way food gets on our plate - every day, we need to eat. It's the ultimate connector between all people. And one day, we might all become much more aware of the great impact each morsel of food we eat has on our planet. I think together we are heading in that direction, even if it is a small step. Happy Thanksgiving - and thank you.
We hope you enjoy our cabbages this week. The green ones have slowed down growing - they're ready, so we harvested them, but they are a bit small. But a perfect size for a meal!
Have you tried winter radishes yet? They are so stunning in a salad - here's a kale and watermelon radish salad we ate last night:
This is the last week for some of our bi-weekly members. Thank you so very much for being with us this season - your support means a lot, and we'll miss you! We hope you enjoyed the food and the experience and we hope to see you again next season! In the meantime, have a happy winter. :)
Warm wishes,
Farmer Kim
