Welcome to Week 14 of the Farm Share!
It's time to customize your share! You have til Tuesday at midnight to do so. Don't forget to return your green bag!
Peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, garlic, onions; this is the time to indulge in this late summer fare. Our tomato abundance will soon begin to dwindle as we need to remove the plants in but a couple weeks.
September is a very welcoming month for farmers like ourselves. We can take a breath. The cooler mornings are a friendly reminder that a rest is approaching. There is less to plant and tend. Slowly, we begin to switch gears back from survival to dreaming.

Wait, a potluck?: We love food, and we know you do too! We decided to host this event as a potluck because we know that sharing food brings people together. Bring an appetizer, or a main, or a salad, or a dessert, or a side, or a drink; share what you like to eat - whatever you bring will be welcomed and enjoyed. We’ll have some cards available so you can note any ingredients/allergens folks should be aware of.
Hope to see you on October 1st!
On The Farm
We carry on with preparing beds for fall; compost, tarping, cover cropping. We want to prepare some beds for a spring planting of rhubarb and asparagus! Most of our fall crops seem to be doing quite well, other than broccoli which a lot of it has been eaten by something, unfortunately. We topped all our tomato plants to help the remaining fruits to ripen. This heat wave should help a bunch too. We are harvesting our second planting of cabbages now, which are very sweet and juicy.

Veggie Highlights
Get your peppers and tomatoes while you can! Bagged baby beets are back again. We’ve had two successions that didn’t do too well, but our fall planting is coming along nicely thankfully.
Hope everyone is having a great long weekend! Thankfully the sun came along to give us a final taste of summer. Enjoy your food!
Your farmer,
Kim
