We have added cauliflower and romanesco to the availability list for this week. Romanesco is one of my favorite fall veggies. It grows in a fractal pattern, and when you cut it off of the stem it breaks apart into roughly even sized pieces. I like to roast it with olive oil, salt, and pepper as a simple side dish or toss it with sautéed sausage, onion, garlic, olive oil, goat cheese, and pasta. Think of it as a grown up Mac and cheese dinner!
We also have the first of the fall root crops coming in. Beets and turnips are both great options for a quick roasted side. We also have radishes, lettuce, and cherry tomatoes for a great salad to celebrate the last of the warm evenings.
