The chickens have been loving all the fresh grass growth from all the rain we have been getting. The sweet corn, tomatoes, etc? Not so much! Our first sweet corn crop is a dud. As my Uncle Wilmore used to say, 'Disc that %#&#@ under.' We do have a 2nd smaller crop that looks promising if we can keep the raccoons out of it. They are addicted to sweet corn and can smell it miles away. They use the river highway to come in at night and have a big party.
If my sweet corn crop does not work out I should be able to get some from Watsonia Farms later. That's the beauty of partners!
