It ain't all roses as they say. Never had a complete kale crop failure in the fall in 14 years of growing it but I guess there's always room for a first time. The picture shows where rows of kale should be but it's mostly weeds instead.
I believe this has been the hardest late summer/early fall we have ever had. The weather has not helped. September was more like August temperature wise and October is starting out like September. Too hot for greens to grow or even germinate. Then we have stayed dry as a bone with crazy flash flood type rain coming every few weeks.
We do have some good looking crops doing their thing however. Hopefully they will come to fruition if it cools down this week! And hopefully my 3rd planting of spinach will germinate. Too hot for the first 2!
