As the seasons turn from New Orleans winter to spring, our farm is not yet overflowing with produce, but it is overflowing with seed trays. We're anticipating a very busy couple of months as everything starts picking up in the greenhouse and in the fields.
Right now, we're working through the last of our winter crops, including our beloved watermelon radishes and carrots (which we're starting to replenish with Compostella carrots). We're working through beds of cooking greens, and the head lettuce is having a heyday on Kentucky St. This week we're supplementing our salad offerings with organically grown baby greens from both Compostella Farm and Major Acre Farm. Our extras section is brimming with Local Cooling Farm eggs, Mycelium Express oyster mushrooms, fresh ginger and turmeric from Too Tall Farm, VEGGI tofu, and those super sweet L'Hoste certified organic grapefruits. Unfortunately, the recent cold weather is putting strawberries on hold for now, but once it warms up again, we'll be back in berry business.
One last note: Please remember to bring your bag!
Enjoy the harvest!
