My number one summer crop: Eggplants. They are showing up in full force for the start of the Extension (or should I say Eggstension?) Season. We've got a fun variety for y'all to try - long and skinny, short and skinny, traditional Italian fatties. I've been really into roasting the Japanese eggplants with Indian spices and salt. In fact, I'm about to go do that right after I launch this week's share!
In other fun summer news: Poché Family Farm blackberries are now available! These berries are so sweet and juicy, we can't wait for you to try them. Get them in the extras section, along with eggs, mushrooms (including lion's mane!), VEGGI tofu, the last few bottles of our hot sauce for the season, and Mama D's pickles and jams.
It's a great share that looks different from what you've been getting all season as the greens start to drop off and the summer crops take over. Along with eggplants, we've got okra, shishito peppers, squash, and cukes, and lots of beautiful herbs. We hope you enjoy it!
