Greeting from the farm.
We have a lot plan for this coming week. We have another beef and pig going to the butcher shop this week. Field corn goes in this week. And our first large cutting of hay gets mowed this week. As Josh tackles theses task I have a long list to get done as well. The greenhouse is getting full again as I start to plant brussel sprouts, cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower. In the field we planting our next panting cucumbers, zucchini, summer squash, okra, watermelon, cantaloupe and beets.
New this week we have spinach, garlic scapes, and snow peas.
Do to the late freezes this year we did lose 80 percent of our strawberry crop and therefore we fell that we don't have enough strawberries to fairly provide everyone with strawberries as an regular item in everyone's basket. We will have strawberries that you can purchase as extras if your would like. I hope everyone understands the disapoint that we have had with our strawberry crop this year as we were hoping to have a CSA strawberry event on our farm this year.
On a positive note the tomatoes are looking great in the high tunnel and we are about two weeks away from get large red tomatoes. We hope you are all enjoying your vegetables.
Hope everyone has a great week,
The Schultz Family
