Farm Happenings for October 11, 2023

Posted on October 7th, 2023 by Trent Loewen

Well folks, this is the last week! It’s been a great summer and we are thankful for your part in it. We very much appreciate you choosing to support our small family farm!

Thursday night we had our first hard frost, -4, so now it’s officially fall. There’s a few plantings that were seeded late but have finally matured enough to harvest this week; the French Breakfast radishes are just perfect, the last planting of salad turnips is ready to harvest, and the final crop of green leaf lettuce, although a little small, are looking great. Then we’re shutting down the greenhouse this week so lots of tomatoes available. Also got a batch of sauerkraut finally ready to go!

Some of the other items on the list:
 - Quantities of green and hot peppers
 - Large zucchini
 - Lots of kale and Rainbow Chard
 - Garlic
 - 5 lb. bags of carrots
 - 25 lb. sacks of potatoes
 - 10 lb. sacks of onions

Your box will be built automatically with only produce in it but everything else is available to swap in. Besides the produce, there is beef from Barnes Creek Ranch, pastured chicken, fresh baking, handmade soap from The Sudsy Llama, pickles, and our homemade ranch dressing.

As always, if you have any trouble with swapping or anything else, you’re welcome to call/text or email. Trent - 306-883-8832, Lois - 306-883-9289. Also the folks at Harvie are happy to help, reach them at support@harvie.farm.

Happy Thanksgiving!
