Farm Happenings for July 3, 2024

Posted on June 30th, 2024 by Trent Loewen

Hey friends! It’s the start of our Farm Share season! We’re pretty enthused about it, but it has been a tough spring. First of all, the last 6 weeks have been so cool and rainy that nothing has grown very fast, and on top of that we had a bad hailstorm a week ago. So that means that we are short of produce for this week and the next. Because of that, your box will be built with half its value and we will make up the difference later in the summer when produce is plentiful. I know that’s disappointing but such is the risk of farming. Feel free to skip your delivery to later in summer if you’d rather get a full box.

To be clear, if you have a $30 box it will have $15 of produce in it this week. Then later in summer the shortage will be added to your box.

Your box will be built automatically with only produce in it but everything else is available to swap in. Besides the produce, there is pasture-raised eggs, fresh baking (baked by my Mom), refrigerator pickles, and our homemade ranch dressing.

As always, if you have any trouble with swapping or anything else, you’re welcome to call/text or email. Trent - 306-883-8832, Lois - 306-883-9289. Also the folks at Harvie are happy to help, reach them at support@harvie.farm.

Have a great Canada Day!
