Apologies for the late launch this week! We have tons of new produce to choose from, so I hope you all have a moment to review your share and make any swaps you like until Tuesday morning.
Big announcement! Signups for our 4-week winter extension will be opening tomorrow morning! We're limiting our memberships for this extended fall season to 100 members, so sign up early if you can. This announcement is going out to current members first, but will be available to anyone in the general public, so we encourage current members to sign up ASAP if you want to continue with us through November 14. All shares, prices, hours and drop points will be the same!
This week's veggies:
Ruby Streaks mustard greens are here! They have a beautiful purple and green color, and a great flavor with a little spice, and something similar to a potato flavor. Sound intriguing? It's one of my favorite greens of all time! Try it in salads, sandwiches or omelets.
Winter squash is just starting to really come in this week! All the squash is still on the small size, or "personal-size" as we like to call it. The best thing about young squash is that the skin is tender, especially the delicata (my personal favorite), so they're really easy to work with and can often be cooked without peeling. We also have a small batch of pumpkins this week! They can either be used for carving or for pies and other cooking. Roast the seeds for a healthy, crunchy snack.
Purple daikon and watermelon radishes are returning this week. They're also on the smaller size, but the flavor is excellent!
Note: we have a variety of hot and sweet peppers this week, so look closely at the descriptions to make sure you know what you're getting. I did my best to ensure that the photos match the item, but it's always best to go by what's typed into the description. Unfortunately, the item photos are one feature that can still use a little more development, so we'll be working on that for next season.
