Hi Friends,
Fall is definitely here! It was 48 this morning and as the sun rose over our fields, I couldn’t help but think about how happy all of the leafy vegetables looked sparkling with the morning dew as the mist rose over South Mountain. Harvest is upon us and this nascent season breathes the heat of summer away, the air is once again cool and fresh on our skin as we bring bin after bin back to the barn. This is the time of the year we miss the sun the most because as brutal as it is working under its blazing heat all summer, a lot of our crops slow production as the days shorten so this will be some of the final weeks for things like eggplants, basil, and peppers.
This week highlights include decorative pumpkins, new crop fennel, the first Napa cabbages, and a delicious dessert pear from our friends at Peter’s.
Until next week,
your Earth Spring Farm Team
