Finally summer is showing up in your boxes! Lots of cucumbers & zucchini and soon tomatoes! Hope you all are enjoying your boxes - please send me some feedback when you have the time. What do you like about your CSA box where we help create your menu for the week? What don't you like?
We are talking about a change to the actual CSA boxes here - but it depends if we can fit the new ones into the truck for DC each week. These boxes are heavy duty plastic boxes that we use for the farmers market and you would be required to bring a bag to the drop point to transfer your shares over. The upside is that we would use less large plastic bags and of course use the boxes again each week, indefinitely. Send me your feedback on this idea. (Imagine a world with no more crappy CSA boxes!)
Jena is on vacation this week so there will be no bread. But before you storm the barn with pitchforks.....New for this week we have 2 types of cheese from our friends at Spring Gap Mountain Creamery in West Virginia. I love their cheese and cannot say enough good things about it! Gouda and Tomme are on the menu for $12 for a 6 ounce wedge of bliss.
