Friends,
Last week was brutal and now we have great weather again! What a beautiful weekend in Washington DC and especially here at the farm in PA. The upside of that hot humid weather is that the plants love it and if water and nutrients are available then they reward us with incredible produce and flowers.
Speaking of flowers: I am looking for someone local to help me on Thursdays and/or Fridays to make bouquets for the farm store, CSA and the Mt Pleasant Farmer's Market.Text me directly if you are interested and we can talk about experience and pay.
New this week in the boxes:
Sweet corn! My neighbor farmer has no spray (+non gmo) sweet corn available. I will be dropping the sweet corn off at your drop point separate from your CSA boxes so please look at your label and take the appropriate amount if you ordered - they will be in the blue bins.
Long Beans - we grow a few of these each year and they are growing well in the greenhouse. I am making a few available to you. Chop them up for an easy stir-fry or steam them.
Poblano Peppers - so good stuffed for the classic Mexican dish of "Chile Relleno"
Thanks everyone and see you soon!
Farmer Mike
