What’s in the Box?

The zucchini are pumping, the carrots are sweet.  We are harvesting all the garlic on Monday so we'll be sending some out fresh; I don't know about you but I've missed garlic!

The cauliflower has been coming ready slow and easy over the last few weeks (just the way I like it).  This week will be our last 75 or so heads until the fall.

The first green beans are a week or so out, but expect small quantities at first.  Fruiting veggies (zuc's, cuc's, tomatoes, etc.) start out in a dribble, then comes the flood.

If anyone has been wondering where the salad turnips and bok choi are, we took a break from them for July.  Give it a couple more weeks and they'll be back with us until the end of the year.

On the Farm

It finally rained for real.  We were at over a month without any measurable precipitation and let me tell you, things were DRY.  I'm patting myself on the back for not bemoaning this fact over the last series of newsletters, but I can't help but share my delight over our 2.5" of glorious, slow and gentle rain.

Everything is a shade more vibrant (the farmers included), and crops are growing full speed ahead.

I can see summer crops starting to fill out and have high hopes for a abundant melon, pepper and eggplant season in the next month or so.

That’s all for now, happy eating until next time,

Farmer Tamara
