What’s in the Box?

The fall cooking greens are gorgeous as is the spinach.

We'll be sending out delicata squash for the next few weeks.  We love to slice it into half-moons, roast it in a hot oven, and then use it in salads or as a side.  You should definately eat the pretty thin skin too.

Other squashes need to cure before they reach best eating quality so you'll see them closer to Thanksgiving.

The peppers are abundant, but ripening slowly; instead of waiting, we are going to embrace green peppers.

Broccoli should be coming ready sometime in the next two weeks, and if all goes as planned it'll stick around for several weeks.  Cauliflower will be hot on it's heels.

On the Farm

We planted our final outdoor transplants for 2024; next week will be the final outdoor seeding.

We started pulling down beds of greenhouse cucumbers that were well passed their prime to make room for winter greens.

I'm really excited about winter crops this year though leek moth has wreaked havoc on our alliums so there won't be leeks, and our scallion crop is smaller then usual.

The carrots look like they may be our best ever, and the sweet potato lake (below) is impressive.

Thanks for eating well with us; it truly means the world.

That’s all for now, happy eating until next time,

Farmer Tamara
