LETTUCE ALL SUMMER LONG

Farmer Phil is a lettuce-growing master. It took years to trial different lettuce varieties, selecting the ones that can tolerate the summer heat without bolting or getting bitter. Phil has found the right balance of successional plantings (repetitive small batches), so that they are harvested quickly. Years of trials has led to these past few years of nearly weekly lettuce all summer long. Even through August. Enjoy your salads!

WHOLE WATERMELONS

We will no longer be offering half watermelons. We do not have a processors license, which would be required to cut watermelons. Yes... So watermelons will be whole. Our second planting of watermelons are coming in smaller now. Enjoy!

WHAT'S GROWING ON

As we welcome in September, school days and look toward fresh fall routines, we hold steady with some of our summer crops on the farm and look toward our fall crops coming soon. A fresh succession of summer squash and cucumbers. Peppers, sweet and also hots, go strong til frost. Potatoes, onions, garlic! Cabbage, lettuce, bok choy, arugula, some kale. Our wonderful Hakurei salad Turnips. Such a well rounded harvest full of options. And delicious watermelon, a treat for you! Look forward to fall delicacies: pie pumpkins, butternut squash, sweet potatoes. Watch for an invitation to help dig sweet potatoes in September and early October.

U-PICK continues! Enjoy the U-Pick flower row, new beans in the Bean Hut, herbs and some cherry tomatoes in Candy Lane.

ALL CSA SHARES CONTINUES THROUGH NOVEMBER 7-9

To those looking for the "fall shares signup", reminder that fall share merged with summer share. Now you get it all! Everyone gets to enjoy the fall crops that are coming along soon. You can clear any dates you want and double up other dates by rescheduling your pickup calendar.
