BUTTERNUT SQUASH

sign of fall, the butternut squash. A versatile winter squash, butternuts can be roasted, boiled, grilled, baked. They can become a soup, cake, casserole, or stir fry. Cut one in half, bake at 350 til soft and eat with butter. Here is a favorite soup recipe, link in the plain text too. A Moosewood recipe, with a magic spice swirl. Substitute butternut instead of pumpkin. https://spoonforall.wordpress.com/2015/08/08/moosewoods-pumpkin-soup-with-magical-swirl/

DIGGING THE SWEETS: SATURDAY OCTOBER 19 at 10am

It's here! We will dig the rest of the sweet potatoes this Saturday October 19 at 10am. Join us for a treasure hunt in the garden! Fun for all ages.

WHAT'S GROWING ON

Phil planted some late tomatoes and they have been delicious! Peppers are often a summer holdout, with ripened red peppers. Enjoy them, the mild and the hot. Cucumbers are out, zucchini is almost done. Kale needs a break. We have bok choy, arugula, lettuce. We are monitoring broccoli, maybe in a couple weeks! Enjoy all the fall delicacies now, for your roast or soup: sweet potatoes, butternut squash, carrots, onions, garlic.

U-PICK continues! U-PICK TREATS: Snap peas! Not prolific but hopefully the flowers will keep coming. Some cherry tomatoes keep ripening. Flowers and culinary herbs. And Kiwi berries! Take some home to ripen if they aren’t squishy and sweet yet.

IT'S RENEWAL TIME!

It's renewal time! We are gathering information for 2025 renewals and transferring data to a new software system. Similar to Harvie with some upgrades too. Would you like to renew? You can learn about the new payment plan option too.
