While we do have mild winters here in Alabama the temps will get below freezing many times during December and January. So we need to keep a eye on the weather for each day.
Many plants are cold hardy like broccoli, cabbage and kale, however plants like lettuce need to be protected. We tuck those lettuce rows in with a mid weight frost cover so they will make it through those below freezing nights and early morning.
