Things are winding down at the farm for the winter. Harvesting the last of the winter crops like broccoli, cauliflower, kale, collards, lettuce, carrots and onions. We will be planting garlic this week and cleaning up empty beds to plant cover crops like rye grass.
Early on we had some challenges with the fall plantings, fire ants damaged or killed about 3/4 of our cabbage plantings. However God has provided the best cauliflower crop we have ever had. This is the reality of farming, riding the waves of the many things out of our control. We close this season with a grateful heart and thankful for each of you who have supporting our small farm and look forward to what the New Year will bring.
