Hi Everyone,
We are so happy to have produce ready for harvest for the first Spring/Summer 2021 delivery. We also love to partner with other local farmers and artesians to offer produce, breads, mushroom, coffee/teas, honey, Microgreens, meats and eggs. There are so many great producers and product right here in our local area. Tooting their horn is one of our favorite things to do!.This week strawberries are the star of the line up! These beautiful and sweet strawberries are from Oak View Farm in Wetumpka. Also in this weeks share you will receiving a tea sample from Josie Gbadamosi owner of Shady Grove Road Blueberry Patch in Tuskegee. We have been adding her delicious blueberries to our CSA shares for many years and recently they started growing Moringa and adding it to her healthy tea varieties. We will be offering her teas as a add-on starting week 2 and if you would like more detailed information let me know and I will email it to you.
Your farmers have been busy planting peppers and eggplants now that we are on the other side of the late cold snap. Tomatoes and cucumber plants that are in the high tunnels are starting to bloom. The next few weeks will be all about trellising and pruning these fast growing vines. Snap peas are full of blooms and we are looking forward to the first sweet peas of the season in a couple weeks.
