On The Farm
It’s hard to believe we only have 3 weeks left of the Farm Share! There are still lots of veggies in our cold room, and salad mix out in the field and greenhouse. This week, we prepped the soil for our asparagus and rhubarb patch - FINALLY. This has been on our mind for a long time now, and with any luck we will be able to plant these crops in the spring. Then all we’ll have to do is wait 3 years! Farming is a tantalizing combination of both the long and short game.
Veggie Highlights
To diversify the shares we brought in some organic celeriac and rutabaga from our friends at Common Ground Farm. The rutabaga are actually HUGE and I can see why people used to carve them instead of pumpkins for jack o’ lanterns.
