Did you know that we have 3 kinds of radishes right now? The most beautiful purple radishes I have ever seen, french breakfast radishes, and watermelon radishes. They're a great addition to a salad because not only are they crunchy and packed with flavour, but they are pretty. I think I'm learning that one of the things I like about growing vegetables is... how pretty everything is! Somehow that feels a little hard to admit.
If salad isn't what you're hungering for, why not make a butternut squash soup? I like roasting it with onions, garlic, carrots, fennel, some spices. And then pureeing with broth for a comforting dish.
But honestly, my favourite vegetable that we have right now is carrots. They're sweet. They're crunchy. Kids like them. You can eat them raw, you can boil them, you can dip them, you can roast them. They can go in so many dishes. I'm a carrot lover!
