Farm Happenings for December 15, 2020
Our new flock of hens is loving the pasture and fresh air. They'll stay in this paddock another couple weeks and then move to another one. After that we will bed them down with a lot mulch hay in a smaller yard during the deep winter months when nothing grows and mud is abundant. &1 read more »

Most everything did quite well in the first hard freeze of the year last week. Some crops even seemed to grow faster under the frost blankets! The cool season is off to a VERY cold start! We stayed busy last weekend getting our frost blankets ready and tightening up the greenhouses.
I say bring on the cold! It will kill some pests and weeds and make the roots and greens sweeter.

The cool season is off to a VERY cold start! If your pick up location is outside I encourage you to pick up Tuesday night and not on Wednesday morning because the greens will possibly freeze and ruin. Happy Thanksgiving! We slow down a lot for thanksgiving but we have a lot of great produce we want to share before the holiday.
