Farm Happenings for May 1st Week
We stayed super busy before the rain planting tomatoes, peppers and eggplant, prepping fields and cultivating spring crops to help them beat the weeds.
The strawberries slowed down a bit. I hope they are just taking a break before a big May push, but we will see.

It was great to see everyone who came out to the farm tour Sunday! We had great weather except for one cold blast of rain that came in for about 30 minutes.

Farm Happenings for April 17th Week
Meet Old Jenny and Little Penny! These are our new donkeys to help protect the lambs from predators, namely coyotes. Donkeys are known for aggressively repelling coyotes. Let's hope that's true because there are plenty of them out here!

While the high tunnels are busting at the seems with food ready to harvest, we are turning our sites to our outdoor fields now that the weather has stabilized a bit more. Spring greens are being planted along with broccoli and cabbage.

Farm Happenings for March 27th Week
Seeding continues! We just finished trays of peppers, tomatoes and eggplant along with lots of different flowers. We finally started planting outdoor with broccoli and cabbage and hope the weather will allow a lot more outdoor planting in the coming days!

Happy Spring!
Spring will have a cold start this year. Our strawberries are tucked in and thinking sweet thoughts under their blankets as are our early tomatoes in the hoop houses. Soon enough we will uncover them and get busy planting in the fields. First items for fi1 read more »

Our tulips and ranunculas are finally popping! One thing we learned with our new flower project: we need to plant more tulips!

The January planted greens are finally starting to do their thing! The unseasonably warm weather has helped them grow a lot. We are loving this early spring weather, but we know a couple more cold blasts will come so we have our frost blankets ready!
