Hi folks,
For those of you that may have missed our recent email about a change in box protocols, please read:
We're reaching out at this point in the season to check in with you about our farmshare box protocols. We know that many of you feel similarly to us here on the farm that reusing boxes is preferable from an environmental and efficiency perspective, and single use boxes has been a slightly painful reality! We've been paying close attention the past few months to information on how coronavirus spreads and understand that transmission from surface contact is quite low.
With that in mind, we're planning to start reusing our farmshare boxes in order to minimize environmental impact, while being cautious of the spread of coronavirus. Boxes will be collected and returned to the farm (as many already have been throughout the season), and will be stored for a least a week before we reuse them - this allows more than enough time for any potential viruses on the surfaces to die naturally. Our crew is still wearing masks and washing our hands frequently, particularly before any handling of washed, to-be-packed produce.
We plan to start reusing boxes in the next couple of weeks, but will still have unused boxes for anyone who feels uncomfortable with a used box. Please respond to this email if you would like us to use only new boxes for your share! We are more than happy to do that for you, so please don't hesitate to request that if it's your preference.
Let us know if you have any other questions about or suggestions for getting our produce out in the most sustainable and safe way!
All the best,
Anna
P.S. Nash's Hard Red Wheat Flour is once again available to add in to your farm share!
