Hello farm sharers,
We are reaching the very end of our irrigation season. Every year, if the river maintains enough water for the salmon runs and other river life, the irrigation system shuts off on September 15. This year, we've been riding the line. The river water levels are very low. We have been limiting our use of irrigation water this past week and we hope, for the sake of the crops, we can continue to use limited water until the final shut off on the 15th.
We are grateful for our amazing access to clean water to irrigate our crops. With one of the shortest watersheds around, we are able to water our fields with mineral rich, cold, and clean mountain water. And it's all gravity fed- no electricity needed.
Let the rains come!
Anna
