Hello Farmshare Members!
As we move into the third week of August, folks on the farm are spending most of their time harvesting, harvesting, harvesting! Our very last transplants of the season will be planted this week, lettuce and bok choi. (If you don't count garlic, which we'll plant in the fall!) And we're spending less time weeding since most of the crops are well established and shading out their competitors. But there is plenty of harvesting to keep us all busy!
We'll have more green beans this week, these plants are looking gorgeous and have been LOADED with beans. We'll also have more Walla Walla Onions and some lovey fresh red onions called Desert Sunrise. AND at long last we have carrots! We are very excited to see these. Our first spring planting of carrots was lost due to intense weed pressure (brought on by that extra rainy spring!) But we're pleased to have them now! You can expect to have more carrots in your box in the coming weeks. We're also looking forward to new potatoes coming very soon!
Enjoy!
