A little bit on Normal

Posted on August 23rd, 2020 by Lynne Schultz

Greetings from the farm,

Josh and I very excited that we are getting a little normal in our lives right now. Our kids  start school this week. They might not be going back full time in person but a full week at a time is better than being at home all the time. The kids also started soccer this week which was great seeing them just being kids and playing with their friends which they have nit seen since March. However, that also means Joshis back to volunteer coaching for the soccer teams. Just another thin to add to our busy lives but something well worth it. On Tuesdays home deliveries you will see us come a little earlier since soccer games are on Tuesdays so we want to try to be there for our kids.

The weather has been great this week although it look likes the heat is on way here gain. But we did a lot of things accomplished this week. We made a lot of hay we dug a load of potatoes and planted a lot of fall crops. We also pulled a lot of plastic this week and are starting to get ready for our strawberry plants 8000 of them. We are butchered chickens (Sunday) 100 of them so we will have chicken starting next week.  We will be making more hay this week to finsh up for the season. Sadie also has to wash and walk her steer every day now since farm is less than two months away. Also we will be digging more potatoes this week. Our goal is to get our bottom field finished before the two hurricanes hit because who knows what that is going to bring.

Fruit Share this week will have melons and apples this week. I don't know what melons yet since we have melons coming our our ears right now and just have to figure which ones we are putting in your bags this week.

The fall and winter CSA a few of you have problems signing up. Sorry it has taken so long but I had to work the program team to figure out some of the problems. I think I have fixed the problems. There is only veggies and eggs to choose from. Meat we be adding as an add on that you can purchase as extras and we are still working with our butcher to get all of our animals processed.

Also a little house keeping please check you accounts we have had a few failed payments over the last few weeks so please make sure everything is correct.

Again thank you for your support,

The Schultz Family
