This week's fennel ready for harvest

This week's line-up:  In addition to fennel, we send along delicata, carnival squash, sweet potatoes, some greens, some cabbage, tomatoes, etc.  Lots of tomatillos available (for swapping or purchase) as well!

This week's tardiness of this e-mail:  With 100% rain forecast for Monday afternoon, we decided to try to dig as many potatoes as we could before the rain on Monday morning.  (This time of year, after it rains it may sometime take weeks for the soil to dry out again, since it is so much cooler, and the days are shorter.)  So we delayed our normal picking for Wednesday's delivery, and we have been playing catch-up ever since! With Wednesday's delivery now prepared, we can finally look ahead to the Friday delivery!

Reminder of last deliveries:  October 23 and 30, and November 6 and 13!

Getting rid of your old vehicle? We could use an older but still functioning vehicle (minivans work great!) to shuttle people, plants, tools, vegetables, etc. between our fields, so if you about to get rid of something, we might be able to provide a home for it; thanks!

Harvest update:  Great weather for harvesting -- at least until Monday's rain -- so we are getting lots of crops off of the fields!
