Green beans developing! This week's offerings: We have the first of the green beans, and a few cauliflower, and green cabbage! Last of the scapes this week! Some summer squash now ready too! Coming soon: In addition to more green beans, we are getting closer to having enough cherry tomatoes to send out. Onions developing nicely as well. Regular garlic bulbs are about 3 weeks away from harvesting and drying! On the farm: We stay busy, always planting, weeding, irrigating, harvesting, etc. Most crops doing okay, though the spring broccoli got too hot, and bolted (went to seed prematurely), so we'll have to wait for later plantings to have broccoli! Tomatoes are looking good, and we have many kinds to share with you! Many thanks to all the worker shares who have come forward to help us out with whatever needs doing! About the farm
Springdale Farm started out as a CSA in 1988, and now supplies approximately 1200 CSA members, spanning several counties in southeast Wisconsin, with its organic produce. The farm is able to extend its short Wisconsin growing season with the help of over an acre of greenhouses.
