Winter squash, and other fall crops, at our '10-acre' field
This week's offerings: Sweet corn again, lots of melons, tomatoes, eggplant, and zucchini still producing well, slightly fewer beans and patty pan squash. Some large heads of broccoli! Peppers starting to turn color -- both frying peppers and bell peppers. Carrots are all on the small side so far.
Coming soon: Leeks, cipollini onions and shallots, colored peppers, buttercup and delicata winter squash, potatoes
On the farm: We always lose a percentage of our work force at this time of year due to folks needing to return to school. Thanks much to both the teachers, and the students, who have been so helpful over the summer months to get things planted, weeded, harvested, etc. And good luck with the school season! Fortunately, we still have a number of others who can carry on with the farm tasks, both full-timers, and worker shares, and part-timers. Thanks to you all for all your efforts! Looks like we are on course to make it through this season! (Right now we are halfway through the 20-week season!)
Peaches: Still a few boxes of peaches available for those interested -- deadline extended to tonight! And for those that ordered them, look for the separate boxes on Wednesday at your pick-up site! Here's the link: https://app.barn2door.com/e/32GNQ
Have a good week!
